The article presents a study devoted to determining the quantitative characteristics of the preparedness of qualified fighters of army hand-to-hand combat aged 16-17 years when performing active defensive and counterattacking strikes in the position of the stalls at a disadvantage lying on their backs, followed by a transition to a painful technique using the developed "Universal device for training techniques of army hand-to-hand combat". The scientific novelty of the research consists in the development of a training device, design features and the mode of performing exercises, which are given in the content of the article, the definition of criteria that allow the control of special speed and strength training of athletes when performing certain techniques in the stalls and the establishment of specific quantitative values of indicators characterizing the time and power parameters of technical actions
