EFFECT OF RESTRICTIVE MEASURES RELATED TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND MENTAL HEALTH OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract:
Physicians and scientists concerned about the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on physical activity (PA) and mental health of the population, including university students. The purpose of this study was to study the impact of restrictive measures related to the pandemic on the level of daily FA and mental health of students and to study the potential impact of PA on physical health of youth. The participants (n=262) - university students of the Siberian Federal University. Full period of this study included two stages: March-May (1-st stage) and June-July (2-nd stage), 2020. Research tools: Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-SF). Was revealed that students who reported a daily PA > 200 min per day had significantly (p 200 min per day, with a minimum moderate PA > 75 min per day and light PA > 100 min per day) helps to reduce the indicators of depression, anxiety and stress in university students during the pandemic
