This article discusses the importance of universal combat in the system of physical training of cadets of universities of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, as well as the need to include it in the educational process of students in order to form the necessary competencies for the purpose of further service in the penitentiary system of the Russian Federation. The scientific novelty of the research results lies in the consideration of the need to include universal combat in the educational process of cadets of the universities of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
