Recently, the role of motivation in sports has been increasing. Currently, the problem of the motivational climate has not been sufficiently studied in Russia, but is being actively developed abroad. This article discusses the features of the motivational climate of athletes, presents the results of a study on adapting the methodology for diagnosing the motivational climate set by peers, characterizes the motivational climate "task orientation" and "self-orientation"
