Introduction. Postural disorders and scoliosis in childhood lead to changes in the musculoskeletal system and impair the activity of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive and nervous systems. To date, the problem of correcting postural disorders is still insufficiently resolved. The aim of the study was to experimentally substantiate the method of correcting muscle imbalance in girls aged 7-8 years with asymmetric posture and scoliosis of the 1st degree. Methodology and organization of the study. The study involved 12 girls 7-8 years old with asymmetric posture and scoliosis of the 1st degree. The study of posture disorders was carried out using stomatoscopy. The determination of the functional state of the muscles of the body was carried out by the method of pedagogical testing of strength endurance and extensibility of the muscles involved in maintaining the correct position of the body. Results of the study and their discussion. During the initial examination, it was revealed that the violation of posture indicators in all girls is assessed as moderate. The strength endurance of the back muscles and abdominal muscles in all the subjects was below the standard values. It was found that the strength endurance of the muscles on the left side is more reduced than on the right side. After the implementation of the proposed methodology, a significant increase in the indicators of strength endurance and extensibility of the studied muscles of the body, an improvement in posture and a decrease in muscle imbalance in the girls of the experimental group were revealed. Findings. The analysis of the indicators characterizing the posture and the functional state of the trunk muscles of girls aged 7-8 years, after the study, proves the effectiveness of the method of correcting posture disorders and muscle imbalance
