Performance issues in the team competitive activities of fire rescuers have recently remained in the field of view of research scientists and practitioners of fire and rescue sports. To date, the serious scientific justification has been given to the training of athletes in disciplines of the individual nature, including «overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course» and «climbing the assault stairs into the window of the 4th floor of the training tower». At the same time, the final place of the team in the competition largely depends on the disciplines «fire relay» and «combat deployment» the peculiarities of training fire rescuers in which much less time is given. It is believed that these team types of competitions are composed of the strongest athletes in individual disciplines, but as noted, individual performance is not a guarantor of team performance. It should be stated that the performance in the «fire relay» is determined by the integrative team «sports form», but not by the sum of the sports readiness of its individual participants. The purpose of the study is to consider the prospects for increasing performance in the fire relay, testing the hypothesis that success in the discipline depends primarily on the individual skill of athletes and the team coherence of competitive actions
