The purpose of the study is to verify the effectiveness of a set of measures aimed at developing the ability for anticipation among young Thai boxers. Research methods: analysis and generalization of literary sources; study of the speed of the choice reaction; research of competitive activity; methods of mathematical and statistical data processing in the Statgrafics 18 program. Research organization. The study involved 20 Thai male boxers aged 14-15 years with 1-2 sports category. A set of tools aimed at developing the ability to anticipate was developed for them. At the beginning of the experiment, testing was conducted. Then, a developed set of exercises was incorporated into the training process, which was applied over a period of 4 months. At the end of the experiment, final testing was conducted. The increase in test results reflecting the manifestation of anticipatory abilities allowed for an assessment of the effectiveness of the developed set of tools. Research results and conclusions. As a result of the application of the developed set of tools, there was a significant reduction in the choice reaction time and a decrease in the number of errors (missing the primary signal and responses to interference) among young boxers, as well as an increase in the efficiency coefficients of counterattacks and defenses. For young Thai boxers with limited competitive experience, the targeted development of anticipatory abilities can be effectively carried out through the study of boxing techniques and preparatory movements.
