The influence of track curvature on the running stride structure of a sprinter athlete in an indoor arena
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The specifics of sprinting on a curve in an athletic indoor track not only determine the differences in the implementation of motor programs over this segment of the distance but also affect the overall effectiveness of the athlete's competitive performance. This factor indicates the necessity for its study and consideration in the adjustment of the training process content. The purpose of the study is to determine the characteristics of the influence of track curvature on the structure of the running stride of a sprint athlete in indoor conditions. Research methods and organization. In the course of the research, the following methods were employed: analysis of scientific and methodological literature; surveys; retrospective analysis of sprinting performance; optical registration of technique parameters (linear modular system "OptoJump Next"); surface electromyography; tensiometry; and methods of mathematical statistics. The biomechanical study, conducted at the sports complex "Athletics Arena" in St. Petersburg, involved highly qualified sprinter athletes aged 20-22. Research results and conclusions. The study specified the biomechanical characteristics that predetermine the direction of improving the technique of sprinting on curves across various tracks in an athletic indoor arena.
