ABSTRACT
The article presents the results of an experimental implementation of a methodology aimed at improving the coordination abilities of preschoolers with Autism Spectrum Disorder during adaptive physical activities. From the results obtained, we can conclude that there is a low level of motor coordination, motor clumsiness and the presence of muscle tension in children with autism, indicating disorders at all levels of motor development. The methodology for developing coordination in children with autism included adaptive physical education classes, inter-hemispheric gymnastics, vestibular gymnastics exercises performed on semi-spherical equipment with objects, coordination exercises on a specially designed curved wooden Owl board, and the Bilgou board using individually varied, competitive, and gaming methods. The study showed statistically significant results in tests measuring the ability to maintain static balance, spatial orientation, and response to a moving object.
