Current issues in teaching swimming to students lacking swimming skills at non-specialized universities
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The purpose of the study is to develop a methodology for teaching applied swimming to students who lack swimming skills and are enrolled in non-specialized universities. Research methods and organization. The analysis of scientific literature, a pedagogical experiment, and mathematical-statistical processing of results using Student's t-test were employed. The experimental methodology was developed based on a training technology focused on the economization of integrated combinations of applied swimming elements. The methodology was tested in physical education classes for first-year students at the Russian University of Transport. Research results and conclusions. Students in the experimental groups demonstrated better results in swimming speed, swimming distance, and the increase in swimming 'stride,' which confirms the feasibility of applying the developed methodology for teaching applied swimming in classes with students who lack swimming skills and are studying at non-specialized universities.
