Personality traits of future doctors in relation to communicative competence
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The purpose of the study is to identify personality traits in comparison with the psychological and pedagogical competence of graduates from the medical university's faculty of therapy. Research methods and organization. The conducted research involved sixth-year students from the Faculty of Medicine aged between 20 and 25 years. The examination was carried out in person during the medical rehabilitation training cycle. To achieve the goals and objectives of the study, the following were utilized: the G. Shmishek questionnaire, the communicative and organizational tendencies test by V.V. Sinyavsky and V.A. Fedoroshin (KOS), the Ehlers test, and the average score of students in solving situational tasks throughout the training cycle (a 100-point grading scale according to the point-rating system (PRS)). Research results indicated that the personality traits of medical faculty students are characterized by the dominance of hyperthymic traits, pronounced emotional lability, reduced levels of anxiety, high self-confidence, and low levels of communication skills. Furthermore, a high level of motivation to avoid failure was identified, accompanied by a tendency towards protective behavior, fear of making mistakes, and a strong desire to evade risky situations. During the analysis of the relationships between the success in solving practice-oriented tasks related to therapeutic interaction and the personality traits of the students, it was found that students with emotive traits assessed the anamnesis of the task better and correctly chose the option for therapeutic interaction.
