The article discusses the issue of ambiguous understanding of such a well-known concept as sport. We want to show that within sports activities there are various, sometimes incompatible with humanitarian values, goals and objectives, as well as areas that we can consider examples of pure sport, which has not only the nature of personal achievements, but also national significance.
