Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
One of the indicators of state development is the level of physical fitness of the population. To increase the level of physical development, it is important to popularize sports, both mass and high achievement. The article presents the experience of the People's Republic of China on the issue of the formation of Chinese sports. It is revealed that at the first stage, the development of mass sports was based on the experience of the formation of the sports sphere of the Soviet Union and was mainly of a military-applied nature. A three-level system of training athletes was created, which had some success. In the 80s of the last century, the sports training system was reformed. The main focus was the integration of sports and education. Since 2003, the main focus has been on the development of high-performance sports. The significant success of Chinese athletes is supported by the fact that the development of sports is one of the priorities of state policy. Important factors were the creation of a regulatory framework and the promotion of private investment, as well as the integration of sports and education.
