The article presents the results of the introduction of an additional professional retraining program «Fitness Trainer» into the educational process of students of the Faculty of Additional Professional Education of the Voronezh State Academy of Sports. The motivational orientation of the listeners is analyzed. The results of the entrance and final testing are presented. Based on the results of the conducted research, it can be concluded that the developed program generally meets the requirements of professional standards, and students at the end of training have the necessary initial professional competencies, which will allow them to begin professional activity as a fitness trainer.
