This article is devoted to the study of the influence of physical culture on the somatic health of first-year students during the period of adaptation to the system of higher professional education. The materials of the study were obtained in the process of testing the level of somatic (physical) health, implemented according to the express system proposed by G.L. Apanasenko at the beginning and at the end of the experiment, which lasted five months from September 2022 to January 2023. The study allowed us to quantify the level of somatic health and to make a general understanding of the impact of physical education on the body of first-year students during the period of adaptation to the educational process at the university.
