The article notes that along with the term professionally applied physical training known from the theory of physical education, specialists use a new term professional physical training, the definition of which is not presented in the specialized literature. The authors provide a justification for the use of the term professional physical training in studies of the physical training of law enforcement officers, as most fully meeting the specifics of the professional training of military personnel and with, and also offer their own definition of this term.
