The article describes the problems of the joint work of the coach and athlete, as well as the uniformity of the training programs of the pre-competition and competitive period. According to the results of the introduction of seven experimental principles of individualization, significant changes in the direction of progress were recorded in the composition of groups and teams of freestyle sprinters of the age category from 16 to 23 years, in various sports organizations. Despite the age difference, skill level, departmental affiliation, novelty and complexity of the task, the teams of coaches and athletes were able to introduce the necessary research parameters into their training. At the end of the season, in one of the most important periods, which is called "Unloading", all 3 sports organizations showed an improvement in the specified indicators. The personal assessment view of each swimmer and his coach was based on the need for a qualitative change to standard training approaches and the desire not to stand on revenge, but to look for ways to improve and find additional motivation. This percentage distribution and informal leadership positions were determined by the level of qualification of athletes and coaches, as well as the status of sports organizations and depend on the objectives and directions that are determined by federal programs for the development of domestic swimming. This allows us to conclude that an updated view on the development and compilation of training programs using the potential of an athlete and coach, taking into account the described principles, is favorably perceived by the participants in the process and can be recommended in competitive training.
