The relationship between barriers to physical activity and leisure types in adolescence
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
Despite the enormous health benefits of exercise and activity, many people still do not pay enough attention to physical activity, despite the well-known health benefits. This study aims to identify associations between specific leisure activities and barriers to physical activity in adolescence. The study was conducted with the participation of 300 schoolchildren from 10 different schools in the city of Krasnodar. Through hierarchical multiple regression analysis, relationships between various leisure activities and the study variables were identified. After controlling for the effects of control factors, it was clear that outdoor activities and social activities were associated with all study variables. These results highlight the importance of promoting positive social interaction in recreational settings and encouraging participation in volunteer activities as important factors promoting physical activity during adolescence.
