Motivation of sports activities of highly qualified Alpine skiers

Abstract (English):
Introduction. Sanctions against Russian athletes create specific conditions for the implementation of full-fledged professional activities of athletes, which in turn can affect the motivation of sports activities. The purpose of the study: to evaluate the motivation of sports activities of highly qualified skiers in the conditions of sanctions. Organization of the study. To assess sports motivation, A.E. Lovyagina's method of "Interval motivation assessment scales" was used. In the course of the study, the results of the survey of athletes in 2017 and 2023 were compared. The results of the study and their discussion. The most significant motives for skiers remain those related to earnings and leadership in competitions, while the motives of patriotism, character education, the ability to solve life problems and travel significantly decreased (< 0.05). Conclusion. More than 65% of the motives remained relevant even under the conditions of sanctions, and the high level of importance of sports motivation itself remained.
