The article presents a study on the search and evaluation of forms of career guidance aimed at improving the effectiveness of professional self-determination of students-athletes of grades 9. In recent years, there has been a downward trend in the interest of student-athletes in the specialty "Teacher of physical culture and sports". This is manifested in a decrease in the number of applicants to the department of secondary vocational education in the college for this specialty, in a decrease in the number of applicants to other specialized secondary specialized educational institutions. The authors have identified such forms of career guidance work as explanatory lectures on possible educational trajectories at the Olympic Reserve School No. 1 (college), an extracurricular activity course "Friendly meetings with a coach in a chosen sport", project activities related to the chosen sport of student-athletes. Based on the conducted survey, it is planned to introduce these forms into the career guidance system of the Olympic Reserve School No. 1 (college) on a permanent basis with students-athletes of grades 8-11.
