The results of the study are presented, which established differences in motivation for motor activity among students who differ in typological features of the manifestation of properties of the nervous system, who do not have sports experience and have chosen table tennis or powerlifting for physical education classes. It has been revealed that motivation for motor activity is higher in the case when the typological features of the properties of the nervous system correspond to the specifics of solving motor tasks in the process of physical education.
