The article discusses a current problem related to the implementation of disciplines in physical culture and sports in higher educational institutions. Attendance depends on a number of factors, including student interest. Low attendance reduces the effectiveness of classes in general and can negatively affect the performance of students and their health. The purpose of the study presented in this article was to increase the effectiveness of physical education classes among students of a special medical group in a higher educational institution. The study was organized in 2023 on the basis of the Baltic State Technical University named after D.F. Ustinov, during which the effectiveness of physical education classes using musical accompaniment in the department of a special medical group was determined based on performance indicators, and a comparative description of attendance was made before and after the introduction of a new factor. It was found that the use of musical accompaniment in physical education classes in the department of a special medical group increases interest among students, attendance increases, and performance indicators of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems improve.
