Analysis of the resilience of athletes involved in esports
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article examines the mutual influence of resilience as one of the personal resources that contributes to the adaptation of a person under stress, affecting the development of spiritual and moral values among young athletes and students of sports universities. The aim of the study was to conduct a comparative analysis of resilience in different age and gender groups of boys and girls simultaneously participating in esports competitions and having the influence of a common stress factor. The resilience test is an adaptation of the Hardinness Survey questionnaire developed by American Psychologist S. Muddy and includes three components: engagement, control, and risk taking. The results of the study showed that it is important for coaches and teachers to be flexible in relation to male and female athletes, recognizing the importance of supporting their resilience not only in sports, but also in other areas of their lives, for example, in studies, in their social activity. The coach also needs to recognize that beliefs, control over a balanced lifestyle, involvement in the social and moral side of activities, and confidence in the power of their experience will contribute to the sustainability of their students' athletic achievements.
