This article presents the results of a survey among high-class sambists and judokas. Increasing competition and dynamically changing rules of martial arts in clothing, such as sambo and judo, dictate the need to find new ways to improve technical training. One of the current problems in combat sports is the limited understanding of coaches and athletes of the possibilities of pain effects when performing attacking and defensive actions, both in the standing and lying position. The aim of the research was to identify the variability of painful effects in sambo and judo during a competitive fight.
