On the question of early sports specialization

Abstract (English):
The article presents a study on the content of the educational and training process of young athletes and the success of their performances in competitions. The sports paths of the best athletes and coaches from Russia and other countries have been examined. Based on the obtained data, the conclusion is drawn that in the early years of training, special attention should be given to: diversified physical preparation, followed by the development of specific physical qualities. In addition, it is necessary to: clarify the age groups and permissible participation in competitions for each age group; align the goals and content of the educational material with sensitive periods; revise the existing practice of evaluating a coach's work; provide coaches with the opportunity to work with their students throughout their athletic careers, which will increase their interest and responsibility for the students' preparation and contribute to the improvement of coaches' qualifications.
