Working with the immediate environment of a disabled child is of great importance for the formation of a high commitment to physical culture and sports activities. For children with intellectual disabilities, despite the development of the scientific basis of the theory and methodology of adaptive physical education, the issue of fostering independence in the organization of physical exercises remains acute. The main difficulties of working with the immediate environment of a child with intellectual disabilities are: chronic fatigue syndrome in the parent, lack of experience in obtaining positive emotions in the process of joint activities, overprotection and fear of making mistakes in the organization of classes, lack of understanding of the child's real capabilities for independence. The approach to the formation of motivation for a healthy lifestyle within the family should be based on a gradual transition from the patronizing model of interaction between the parent and the child to the model of team interaction. It is necessary to take into account the preferences of parents in the choice of forms of motor activity and to create pedagogical conditions for the activation of complementary communication.
