The purpose of the study is to increase the effectiveness of the training process aimed at developing the speed-strength abilities of taekwondo athletes through the use of maximum power exercises. Research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature on the research problem, pedagogical experiment, and mathematical-statistical processing of the obtained data. Research results and conclusions. The data from the control tests of the experimental and control groups prove the effectiveness of using maximum power exercises for the development of speed-strength abilities. The results obtained indicate the appropriateness of integrating this set of exercises into the training process of martial artists.
