Cybersport is a team or individual competition based on computer video games, which is actively gaining popularity among young people. The growth of interest in eSports is associated with technological development and the growth of Internet speed. In addition, the topic of including eSports in the Olympic Games system is increasingly being raised in the world community. Russia became the first country in the world to recognize esports as an official sport. Russian athletes successfully perform at major international competitions. However, esports is different from classic sports and needs to be regulated. Timely modernization of the e-sports system in Russia will provide a competitive advantage on the world stage. The purpose of the study was to identify problems in the legal regulation of e-sports. In the course of the study, scientific publications of foreign experts in the field of e-sports were analyzed and a number of areas were identified that need to be adjusted in order to organize a more effective training and competitive process of e-sports athletes. According to foreign authors, one of the main problems of e-sports is the imperfection of the rules of e-sports games and the system of control over their observance.
