The vector of development of modern society, the global digitalization of all spheres of industrial production and social institutions create conditions of rapid variability, randomness, and uncertainty, which leads to a steady decline in the physical, psychological, and moral (social) components of student health. The relevance of the article is due to the need to study the indicators in the structure of physical, mental and social health of students, allowing them to optimally adapt and effectively develop in the educational space of a technical university. The analysis of scientific and methodological literature allowed us to summarize the semantic aspects in determining the content of the components and the concept of "health". A multifactorial analysis of the studied category revealed that the mechanisms of adaptation and health preservation are determined by the presence of characteristics reflecting the state of the body's functional systems (the presence or absence of diseases); the level of physical development; the formation of adequate target and motivational value attitudes; psychological and personal qualities. The study of the initial level of development of indicators in the structure of student youth health has proved the need for an integrated approach in the design of activities covering sports, recreation, social, creative, civic and patriotic spheres of educational influences at the stage of students' entry and adaptation to a new educational environment. 574 people took part in the experimental work, first-year students of Samara State University of Railway Transport (SamGUPS) and Samara State Technical University (SamSTU).
