The article is devoted to the comparison and determination of the leading interests and motives for training in the combined cheerleading teams of Russian and Chinese female students, while using the method "Motives for playing sports" (Shaboltas A.V). The study involved students of national cheerleading teams of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow) and students of Henan University (Kaifeng). The study was conducted at the end of the second year, all participants were engaged in combined teams for two years. As a result, the leading motives for cheerleading among the students of the two countries were determined, which made it possible to purposefully adjust the educational and training process, including a greater number of performances at competitions and physical culture demonstration performances, both for the Russian and Chinese national teams
