Introduction. Spatial orientation is one of the necessary types of coordination abilities for skiers. Athletes need to adapt to various changing conditions and situations at the time of passing the track. The purpose of the study: to experimentally substantiate the need to introduce into the training process of skiers 6-7 years of special exercises aimed at the development of spatial orientation. Organization of research. To assess the initial level of technical and tactical readiness of the 6-7-year-old skiers, a control training was conducted in the giant slalom discipline, consisting of two races with a fixed track time. A pedagogical experiment was held for one month. Further, repeated testing of all those involved and a survey of athletes of the experimental group were conducted. Then the analysis of the obtained results was carried out. The results of the study and their discussion. There were no significant differences between the results of the groups based on the results of control training (p<0.05). Survey results: more than 80% of respondents noted that the new exercises made training more interesting. Conclusion. The introduction of exercises aimed at the development of spatial orientation into the training process of skiers 6-7 years old: forms the necessary coordination skills for skiers; helps to increase the emotional background in training sessions; does not have a negative impact on technical and tactical training, despite a decrease in the volume of competitive exercises
