A study was made of the influence of the type of the nervous system of students engaged in the gym of the university on the recovery of the body after a standard physical load. The purpose of the work is to identify patterns and relationships between the type of the nervous system and the process of recovery of the body. The study involved 32 girls and 35 boys of 1-3 courses. The students were asked to perform a tapping test according to the method of E. P. Ilyin. Then, after that, each student was given a standard physical activity (20 squats in 30 seconds) and the time to restore their heart rate was counted using a stopwatch. The resting heart rate was measured beforehand. The results showed that a weak nervous system prevails among female students - 78%, 8% of girls have a medium-weak nervous system, and 14% have an average nervous system. Among young men, the largest number have a weak nervous system - 69%, medium-weak and medium account for 15% and 16%, respectively. The pulse recovered to its original state after standard physical activity faster among subjects with a weak nervous system. The greatest recovery time of the pulse was observed in students with an average nervous system
