Abstract:
Family reading in the leisure structure of preschoolers and younger schoolchildren continues to be an important format that contributes to their socialization, personal and cognitive development. At the same time, the displacement of reading from the life of a modern family is a trend, its value as a whole is declining. Parental attitude towards this is an important factor. Having a great deal of dependence on the personality traits of the parents themselves, it is also interconnected with the age of the child. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the parental position in organizing family reading for preschoolers and younger schoolchildren. Both common features and peculiarities have been identified, which is of practical interest in the study and support of children's reading and family reading.
