This article deals with the problem of developing the motivation of future teachers in the process of studying at a university. To assess the level of development of students' motivation, A. A. Rean's questionnaire "Motivation for success and fear of failure" was used, aimed at diagnosing positive (hope for success) and negative (fear of failure) motivation in educational activities. As a result of the survey, it was found that the majority of students have a high level of development of motivation to achieve success, which is 53%, and only 3% of students showed a low level of motivation, as a rule, such students experience difficulties in the process of studying at a university.
