DIAGNOSTICS OF COURAGE IN THE TRAINING PROCESS OF ATHLETES ENGAGED IN HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT

Abstract:
Introduction. The study of Russian scientific publications shows that a high level of formation of strong-willed qualities is the most important condition for achieving victory in contact martial arts. The education of strong - willed qualities in athletes is a psychological and pedagogical problem. The solution of psychological and pedagogical tasks is impossible without the development of an effective form of control and evaluation. Purpose of research. To diagnose the level of development of courage in athletes engaged in hand-to-hand combat. Methodology and organization of research. In the course of the study, we used: a survey (interviewing) of coaches; psychological and pedagogical observations of the training process; G.A. Kalashnikov's method of "Reducing the effectiveness of activities when a sense of danger arises"; E.V Melnik's method, E.V. Voskresenskaya's method of "Diagnosing fears in athletes"; performing control tasks in a state of "Groggy"; sparring with a stronger partner. Results of the study and their discussion. The results of the analysis of the indicators of general courage and mental stability of the subjects indicate their high level of development. It was revealed that 60% of the subjects have an average level of fear, and 40% have a high level of fear. The analysis of the obtained results indicates a negative dynamics of the performance of all control exercises before and after rotation, and this is confirmed by the significance at a reliable level (p<0.05). Thus, it can be stated that in the state of "Groggy" the physical condition of athletes decreases. Conclusions. The feeling of fear strongly affects the effectiveness of competitive activity of athletes. In contact martial arts, there is general courage (overcoming fear of the audience) and special courage (overcoming fear of feeling pain). During the sports training of martial artists, it is necessary to exert a specially directed pedagogical influence on the formation of volitional qualities.
