Holding mass events of patriotic content is a huge contribution to the upbringing of the younger generation. The article presents the associative series of the concept of "patriotism", identifies the main functions of the organization of patriotic events. By the method of analysis of literary sources on the declared subject, the directions of educational work are determined, which can be implemented in the organization and holding of a patriotic performance or holiday. The main stages in the preparation and implementation of the proposed event are outlined. The role and importance of patriotic education for our country is described.
