DEVELOPMENT OF COORDINATION ABILITIES OF CHILDREN 7-8 YEARS OLD (FIRST YEAR OF STUDY IN THE KARATE SECTION)

Abstract:
Introduction. For children engaged in karate, the development of coordination abilities is of great importance. But with regard to the age of 7-8 years, there is a contradiction between the need for their actual development and the fact that the most favorable natural period for the development of these abilities comes much later (12-14 years). The purpose of the study is to develop a methodology for training coordination abilities at the initial stage of teaching children (7-8 years old) in the karate section. The methodology and organization of the study is the use of exercises on the coordination ladder, selected taking into account the specifics of karate as a sport. At the beginning and at the end of the study, a study of coordination abilities was conducted on four tests: shuttle running, three somersaults, balancing on a bench and jumping on a marking. The results of the study and their discussion - the results of the pedagogical experiment indicate a significantly greater increase in coordination abilities in the experimental group. Moreover, it is those that are most relevant for karate classes - requiring complex coordination of movements, hand-eye coordination, the development of a sense of balance, in combination with the eye and muscle sense. Conclusions: The sequence of motor skills development in children is confirmed in principle by the rating of coordination abilities. The inclusion of exercises on the "coordination ladder" at the beginning of the main part of the lesson increases its motor density, and also causes increased interest in children and motivates them to independent studies.
