Abstract:
Introduction. Priority directions for the development of the sphere of physical culture and sports are stated in the «Strategy for the development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation for the period until 2030». Within the priority directions, specific activities that ought to be carried out to implement these directions are indicated. It was revealed that the implementation of the activities prescribed in the document requires competent informational, legal, managerial, outreach support by employees of related industries. Methodology and organization of research study. Analysis was chosen as the main research method, and abstraction as an additional one. Results of the research study and their discussion. Based on the results of the analysis of the document, the author establishes that the implementation of many activities in priority directions requires appropriate staffing in the field of physical culture and sports, and that there is a shortage of qualified personnel in accompaniment of the functioning of the field of physical culture and sports. Conclusions. The system of personnel training for the sphere of physical culture and sports needs continuity between the levels of higher education and also the creation of additional professional programs in the universities of physical culture and sports. Work on the professional orientation of student-athletes should be carried out throughout the entire period of study and be based on a practice-oriented approach to learning and should be aimed at a further career trajectory in the field of physical culture and sports
