Obtaining vocational education by convicts is an important factor in the correction of the special contingent and, at the same time, a significant re-socializing factor. However, at the present stage of the penitentiary system, there is a significant decrease in the level of education of convicts and their desire to acquire new knowledge. In the current realities, convicts are characterized by pedagogical neglect, problems with education and negative characteristics of a moral character. Persons held in penitentiary institutions do not see the point in training and further prospects for their development. This is partly due to the fact that at the moment the level of organization of the educational process in the correctional institutions of the Russian penitentiary system does not meet modern requirements. This is expressed in the lack of technical means for conducting educational classes and the low motivation of the convicts themselves
