The article presents the results of testing the physical fitness of students of Omsk State Pedagogical University, the analysis of the results of the implementation of the all-Russian physical culture and sports complex "Ready for labor and Defense" (GTO). Introduction. The content of training sessions on physical culture and sports at the university should ensure the readiness of future graduates actively use the means of physical culture to perform social and professional activities. The purpose of the study. Generalization of indicators of physical fitness of students of Omsk State Pedagogical University based on the implementation of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex "Ready for labor and Defense" (GTO). Methodology and organization of the study. The analysis of regulatory documents and physical fitness testing carried out, mathematical methods of data processing used. The study conducted in the period from 2017 to 2019 and from 2022 to 2023, 445 people participated in it. Research results and discussion. The results of the students' testing reflect their level of physical fitness and allow them to track the dynamics of the assignment of insignia, to find out the percentage of students with insignia to the number of test takers and to the number of students engaged in physical culture. Conclusions. According to the results of the study of physical fitness of students for these periods, no pronounced trends found. Changes to the GTO complex in 2019 and 2023 did not have a significant impact on the number of awarded insignia. The average number of students who completed the GTO complex with the assignment of insignia was 38.7% in relation to the number of test participants. The percentage of students awarded with GTO marks, relative to the number of students engaged in physical culture at the university was 2.3%
