The purpose of the study is to improve the methodology of teaching the discipline “Physical Training” for cadets of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia through the introduction of a validated control and assessment complex. Research methods and organization. The following methods were used: analysis and generalization of scientific literature data, pedagogical observation, questionnaires, content analysis (of assessment sheets of interim physical training tests), modeling, pedagogical experiment, and mathematical and statistical methods. The effectiveness of the experimental model of the validated control and assessment complex was determined by the final results of tests characterizing the development of strength, speed, endurance, scores for performing combat techniques according to the requirements of the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “On Approval of the Procedure for Organizing Training of Personnel for Positions in the Internal Affairs Bodies of the Russian Federation”; and by the level of formation of educational motivation using the methodology of T.D. Dubovitskaya. Research results and conclusions. The developed model of the control and assessment complex for the discipline “Physical Training” provided a significant advantage of the experimental groups over the control groups in terms of the development of general physical qualities, success in solving standard tasks related to the use of combat techniques, and the formation of the level of educational motivation. The effectiveness of this methodology, confirmed by the final testing results during the pedagogical experiment, is expressed in its ability to ensure objectivity of control in the discipline “Physical Training” over the training period, sustainable growth of educational motivation, and professional readiness of cadets of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
