Development of coordination abilities in older preschool children by means of the “Sitim” methodology
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the effectiveness of the “Sitim” methodology as a means of developing coordination abilities in children aged 5–6 years. Research methods: theoretical analysis and synthesis of literary sources, pedagogical observation, testing, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics. Research results and conclusions. The obtained data testify to the high effectiveness of the “Sitim” methodology. The effect is explained by the high coordination complexity of the exercises, which contributes to the formation of new interanalyzer connections; the imitative and playful nature, which increases motivation and allows a large volume of movements to be performed without signs of fatigue; the use of non‑standard equipment made from natural materials, which creates additional coordination tasks and provides a massage effect; the comprehensive impact on all components of coordination abilities simultaneously; and the cultural value that introduces children to the traditions of the Sakha people, which corresponds to the tasks of the Federal State Educational Standard for Preschool Education (FSES PE) in the part of ethnocultural education. The “Sitim” methodology can be recommended for implementation into the practice of physical education in preschool institutions, especially in regions with harsh climates and rich traditions of folk physical culture.
