This article explores the impact of anxiety on human productivity. The problem of anxiety is relevant in modern society, where people are faced with various stressful situations that can negatively affect their performance. Anxiety is a factor that has a negative impact on the formation of positive motivation for learning. The problem of anxiety is becoming more and more relevant and fundamental in psychology. During adolescence, adolescents have an acute and not always adequate reaction to changes in the world around them, as they are looking for ways to display "adult" behavior. If conditions are not provided for the development and positive use of new opportunities, adolescents' self-assertion can take the wrong form, which can cause negative reactions. At student age, anxiety can manifest itself in a variety of ways: reduced activity in the classroom, confusion in the answers, avoidance of communication. Due to the great emotional stress that students face in such situations, psychosomatic illnesses may occur. All of the above cannot but affect the motivation for learning. The author of the article reviews scientific research on the relationship between anxiety and performance, and also explores the mechanisms through which anxiety affects human cognitive functions. The author is conducting a study that confirms the destructive effect of anxiety on the productivity of students. The survey was conducted among 100 students of the city of Krasnodar, in the age group of 1825 years. The results of the study allow us to develop recommendations for managing anxiety in order to increase productivity and work efficiency. This article will be useful for specialists in the field of psychology, management, as well as for everyone who is interested in optimizing their performance and achieving better results in their activities
