Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
To determine the prospects of winning 2024 Olympic licenses by Russian female gymnasts-subject to their international competitions admission - it is necessary to analyze the results of the world’s leading gymnasts at the main 2023 starts. The 52nd World Championships in Antwerp is the main tournament where nine teams and individual licenses were given. The purpose of the study. The determination of the real competitiveness of the best Russian national team female gymnasts at the international arena on VT. Tasks: to determine the structural groups of vaults performed by the World Championships finalists and the components of their final scores; to determine the potential rating of Russian gymnasts, if they were participating in the World Championships finals on this apparatus. The methods of the study: analysis of official documents and results of competitions on VT, video materials of competitions, expert evaluation of gymnasts’ performances on this event. Research results and discussion. It was determined that most of the participants in the final at the 2023 World Championships performed vaults from Group 4 (Yurchenko). S. Biles (USA) performed for the first time in the world the Yurchenko double pike somersault, which in the Code of Points will be named after her as "Biles II". Data from the detailed scores shows that it is possible to fight for medals on VT only with high difficulty of both vaults. Elite Russian female gymnasts perform vaults with lower DV, compared to the VT leaders in Antwerp. Conclusions. The total difficulty of two vaults of S. Biles is 12.0. Russian gymnasts currently perform vaults with total difficulty of 9.2. Thus, on this apparatus the female gymnasts of the Russian national team are significantly behind the leaders, although their E-scores look comparable
