Abstract:
The article discusses recreational swimming in the context of interaction with the nervous system and cognitive abilities of a person according to scientific literature. Swimming refers to mass types of motor activity, which is one of the most accessible means of physical culture for people of any age and level of fitness. Swimming has a balancing effect on the autonomic nervous system, moderately reducing the tone of its sympathetic department and increasing the activity of the parasympathetic. Regular swimming lessons can improve brain function, including cognitive abilities in people of any age. Changes in the activity of the nervous system associated with swimming have a positive effect on the state of the psyche, contribute to the formation of a positive emotional background, give a feeling of cheerfulness and increase efficiency
