Distance learning is widely used at the P.F.Lesgaft University of Physical Culture for students with an individual training schedule. A study was conducted on the quality of mastering the disciplines of the medical and biological profile by junior and senior students studying with the use of distance educational technologies in the direction 49.03.01 - Physical culture. The final grades obtained during the semester by first-year students studying the discipline "Human Anatomy" and third-year students studying the discipline "Sports morphology" were compared. Both disciplines require knowledge of the structure of the human body, knowledge of the structure, position and function of its organs. The results of the study showed that third-year students who studied the discipline "Sports Morphology" completed their studies with a higher total score than first-year students who studied the discipline "Human Anatomy". When mastering academic disciplines, senior students analyze educational material, linking educational topics with examples from sports activities, actively looking for answers to their questions; first-year students participate in the learning process more passively. Conducting brief final surveys at the end of the practical classes should activate the first-year students in mastering new educational material
