In the article, the author proposes a way to improve results in air pistol shooting through the use of physical exercises with a rubber expander. In this regard, the corresponding goal was set, as well as the objectives of the study, which were to first develop a set of physical exercises with an expander for pistol shooters, apply it and determine the effectiveness of the physical training of shooters using these exercises. A set of physical exercises with an expander was developed and proposed for use, which was used in the process of general and special physical training of shooters. This work continued with 14 young men for 8 months. The control of the results was carried out 3 times, and allowed to trace the changes in the indicators. According to the results of the experiment, the results of the experimental group were higher than the results of the boys in the control group by 10.3 points. And the changes in indicators at the beginning and at the end of the experiment amounted to 24.1 points in the experimental group, and only 12 points in the control group. The difference in indicators, exceeding the results of the control group by 2 times, confirmed our assumption. This work is of great theoretical and methodological significance, and its application will effectively achieve pedagogical tasks in sports work
