EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TECHNIQUES IN THE REGULATION OF ANXIETY, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FATIGUE OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
Introduction. The lifestyle of young students assumes the low motor activity, while at lectures and practical classes, students are forced to maintain a static posture for a long time, which leads to increased pain and discomfort in the muscles. The use of means of myofascial release in physical education and in everyday activities can significantly reduce discomfort and improve the psycho-emotional state of students, however, we have found a small number of studies devoted to this problem. The purpose of the study: to test the effectiveness of self-massage exercise complexes in reducing anxiety, physical and emotional fatigue of students of higher educational institutions. Methodology and organization of the study. The study involved 15 full-time students. For 4 weeks, they included self-massage complexes in daily activities, as well as in physical education classes. Before and after the experiment, respondents were asked to answer questions from 2 methods: a questionnaire for assessing physical and mental fatigue; the Spielberger-Hanin anxiety scale. The results of the study. The introduction of exercise complexes in physical education classes, as well as in the daily routine, can significantly reduce the indicators of reactive anxiety (22.51%, p < 0.01), the level of physical (53.03%, p < 0.01) and mental fatigue (45.27%, p < 0.01). Conclusion. Thus, the use of MFR complexes after physical education classes, as well as during the day, can significantly reduce the level of fatigue and reactive anxiety among students, which will positively affect their performance
