Introduction. The specifics of modem competitive activity in cross-country skiing require athletes to achieve a high level of development of various types of coordination abilities. At the same time, it was found that the effectiveness of the development of coordination abilities is directly related to the typological properties of the nervous system of athletes, such as "strength" and "weakness" in the process of arousal. It is assumed that the introduction of an experimental technique of differentiated development of coordination abilities into the training process of ski racers aged 10-13 years, having different typological properties of the nervous system, contributes to an effective increase in the level indicators of the development of their coordination abilities. Material and methods of research. Sixty cross-country skiers engaged in groups of initial sports training took part in the study. Prior to the beginning of the pedagogical experiment, various "basic" and "auxiliary" coordination abilities were identified for ski racers with a "weak" and "strong" nervous system. The main methods of this research are: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, correlation analysis, pedagogical testing, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics. The results of the study and their discussion. The article presents changes in the results of testing the coordination abilities and mental processes of ski racers aged 10-13 years, having different typological properties of the nervous system, which occurred during a pedagogical experiment. Based on the results of the analysis of the obtained results of pedagogical testing, it was found that the use of experimental methods of differentiated development of coordination abilities of ski racers aged 10-13 years in their training process contributes to significant and statistically significant changes in most level indicators of the development of coordination abilities of ski racers in experimental groups. At the same time, in the control groups, the changes in the studied indicators that occurred during the pedagogical experiment are significantly less. Conclusions. The development in one training session of various "basic" and "auxiliary" coordination abilities of ski racers with a "weak" and "strong" nervous system in the process of excitation in the ratio of 60-70% (basic coordination abilities) to 40-30% (auxiliary coordination abilities) of the total duration of the training session contributes to the effective development of coordination abilities of athletes
