Improving the quality of mastering fighting techniques is one of the urgent problems of educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. One of the promising areas can be an innovative structure of the lesson in the discipline of combat techniques of wrestling, in the technology of forming the professional sports culture of the individual. The article considers the structure of the innovative lesson, conducted the comparative experiment and presents data on the performance of cadets. The developed structure of the training session has proved its effectiveness and can be applied in various educational institutions of the similar orientation
